In the past I have played with images of Magpies but nothing got my interest.In November 2015 while in Rome I saw a piece of an ancient Roman stone carving plastered into the entryway of a church. The bird had his head turned toward some hanging fruit. I photographed it and did a series of drawings which became magpies or in New Mexico Urracas. I cannot find the original photo, I must have deleted it not remembering what it was. Anyway that was the start and maybe we will see Magpies in different positions as well.
